This cozy 1949 Jim Dandy Vintage Camper #8 is a perfect getaway for couples looking jump back in time while having all the amenities of modern glamping.  This 2-person vintage camper also has the space for a 4-person BYO sidecar tent on the campsite (sleeping 6 total on the site).

Hop back into the forties and experience mid-century camping and decor! The only camper of its kind known to exist, the camper is home to pictures of the couple that built and used the camper – quite a trip back in time! Our top-rated, family-oriented lakeside Wisconsin glamping allows you to time travel through a period-authentic theme without the fuss of actually building a time machine. And, do it while enjoying nature and without having to pack all of your stuff.

SPACE DESCRIPTION: This camper is outfitted with one camper full-sized futon bed and also has a food prep area (no appliances/water). For bathroom needs guests use the bathhouse. While it is snug on the inside, we feel its authentic character of the early American camping era more than outweighs the smaller interior. Outdoors is home to a charcoal grill, a hammock, tiki torches, and patio furniture. A common gas grill station (tanks provided) is located in the campground). POV has wood swings and hammocks throughout the resort as well. This camper also provides basic electricity for charging wall lights, phones, laptops, fans, COPD machines, and other low-powered appliances, etc. A space heater is also provided (heaters provided in units – bring your own 1 lb propane canisters or buy them in our store – 1 canister should get you through overnight). There is parking for one vehicle with overflow parking available at the bathhouse.

This “bring your own tent” Campsite #9 is located in our roundabout ring and is one of our larger campsites. It fits two tents sleeping up to six persons total. It is outfitted with a fire ring, a charcoal grill (you don’t have to bring your own!), and picnic table. This “bring your own tent” Campsite #9 is located in our roundabout ring and is one of our larger campsites. It fits two tents sleeping up to six persons total. It is outfitted with a fire ring, a charcoal grill (you don’t have to bring your own!), and picnic table. A common gas grill station (tanks provided) is located in the campground). It has tiki torches and a hammock as well. 

There is parking available for one car at the site and one car in overflow parking at the bathhouse. A water station is available at the bathhouse. The layout of each site has been meticulously placed and groomed to utilize the natural landscape and ground cover (mulch – no more tracking mud!). This site fits *SMALL* campers 25′ in length or less – including the hitch – depending on the size of your camper you may need to park your vehicle nearby in overflow parking by the bathhouse.

PETS: No pets allowed.

Stay in Al Capone’s 1920s Luxury Tent #10 – a replica of the A-frame tents used in the roaring 20’s and 30’s – and perhaps right here at the resort. It is purported the island right off POV’s shore was owned by Al Capone’s doctor, and goons with tommy guns used to patrol its outer shores. Gangsters frequented these parts to hide out and to smuggle booze to major metros in the Prohibition era. It is a perfect getaway for wannabe gangsters on the lam and is the most secluded glamping site of the campgrounds. It is our largest tent and campsite (sleeping 6 comfortably inside the tent) and has the space for a side-car 2-person BYOTent (for a total of 8 sleeping on the campsite total).

Decked out with historic photos and memorabilia of Capone’s time in the Northwoods in the Prohibition era, it has a view off its porch of the woods – no other campsites. Watch the trees or stars from the covered porch with the firepit aglow. With glamping all the craze, this tent affords for the luxury of real furniture without the prices. Guests get much more than just another shelter in nature; these tent will help you create lifelong memories and a sense of nostalgic adventure. Its fluid lines and natural light creates a feeling of spaciousness, warmth and relaxation.

This luxury tent is outfitted with a queen bed, two full-sized futons, and a kitchen table. Outdoors the deck is home to a charcoal grill, a hammock, tiki torches, and patio furniture. This 1940s Canadian Luxury Tent #15 is nestled in the forest, gives you a glamorous Northwoods camping feel, and is a great way to get away Up North (sleeping 4 comfortably inside the tent). It is nice and a calming dark inside for folks who like to sleep in. Fishing and pontoon boat rentals and ice fishing packages available upon request via the checkout process.

This 1940s Canadian Luxury Tent #15 is nestled in the forest and sleeps 4 comfortably inside the tent. It is outfitted with a fire ring, a charcoal grill (you don’t have to bring your own!), and picnic table. It has tiki torches and hammocks as well.

Instead of a long drive up to the boundary waters, get away to Canada of yesteryear in this tent – decked out with Canada-camping theme decor and historic tourism posters. With glamping all the craze, this tent affords for the luxury of real furniture without the prices and is nestled in the woods. Guests get much more than just another shelter in nature; these tent will help you create lifelong memories and a sense of romance and adventure. Its fluid lines and natural light creates a feeling of spaciousness, warmth and relaxation.

This luxury tent is outfitted with a full size bed, two cots, and a fun round picnic table. Outdoors is home to a charcoal grill, hammock, tiki torches, picnic table, and firepit. POV has wood swings and hammocks throughout the resort as well. Now included with your rental rate, POV Resort provides Power Stations for each luxury tent – these provide basic electricity for charging phones, laptops, fans, COPD machines, and other low-powered appliances, etc. Ground cover is mulch – no more tracking mud! There is parking for one vehicle with overflow parking available at the bathhouse.

A space heater is also provided (heaters provided in units – bring your own 1 lb propane canisters or buy them in our store – 1 canister should get you through overnight). 

There is parking available for one car at the site and one car in overflow parking at the bathhouse. A water station is available at the bathhouse. The layout of each site has been meticulously placed and groomed to utilize the natural landscape and ground cover (mulch – no more tracking mud!). 

PETS: No pets allowed.
