Stay in John Dillinger’s 1920s Luxury Tent #12 – a replica of the A-frame tents used in the roaring 20’s and 30’s – and perhaps right here at the resort. It is purported the island right off POV’s shore was owned by Al Capone’s doctor, and goons with tommy guns used to patrol its outer shores. Gangsters frequented these parts to hide out and to smuggle booze to major metros in the Prohibition era. It is a perfect getaway for wannabe gangsters on the lam and is one of the most secluded glamping site of the campgrounds. It is one of our largest campsites – the tent sleeps 4 comfortably and there is space for a 2-person BYO sidecar tent (sleeping 6 total on the campsite).

Decked out with historic photos and memorabilia of Dillinger’s time in the Northwoods in the Prohibition era, it has a view off its porch of the woods – no other campsites. Watch the trees or stars from the covered porch with the firepit aglow. With glamping all the craze, this tent affords for the luxury of real furniture without the prices. Guests get much more than just another shelter in nature; these tent will help you create lifelong memories and a sense of nostalgic adventure. Its fluid lines and natural light creates a feeling of spaciousness, warmth and relaxation.

This luxury tent is outfitted with a queen bed, a full-sized futon, and a kitchen table. Outdoors the deck is home to a charcoal grill, a hammock, tiki torches, a picnic table, and firepit. A common gas grill station (tanks provided) is located in the campground). A picnic table and firepit are also furnished. POV has wood swings and hammocks throughout the resort as well. Now included with your rental rate, POV Resort provides Power Stations for each luxury tent – these provide basic electricity for charging phones, laptops, fans, COPD machines, and other low-powered appliances, etc. Ground cover is mulch – no more tracking mud! There is parking for two vehicles with overflow parking available at the bathhouse.

A space heater is also provided (heaters provided in units – bring your own 1 lb propane canisters or buy them in our store – 1 canister should get you through overnight).
