Additional Information for Your Stay

The resort is directly connected via a spur on North Twin Lake to multiple well-groomed snowmobile trail systems. We are blessed by the Lake Superior Snowbelt and see more snow than most other Wisconsin locations. A massive 700-mile trail system gives you access to the breathtaking sights of 240,000 acres of public land, making it a Top Snowmobiling Destination in the Midwest.

The Conover Sno Buddies Trails (80+ miles) have mixed trail surfaces. Conover offers the perfect starting point for your snowmobiling adventure. To the north, you will meander towards Land O’Lakes, Wi and the U.P. of Michigan. To the east, you will find Phelps, the Nicolet National Forest and Iron River, Michigan. Head south and you will venture into Eagle River, Three Lakes and Sugar Camp. Westerly trails take you to Star Lake, Boulder Junction and Presque Isle. Your riding options are endless. This trail can be seen to the west of North Twin Lake above on the map. See Conover SnoBuddies website for more information.

The Phelps Snowmobile Trails (40+ miles) are maintained by the club in Phelps in the Chequamgon-Nicolet National Forest, including trails around North and South Twin Lakes and Lac Vieux Desert Lake on the Michigan border. See their club website at www.phelpssnomobileclub.com for trail pass details – including regulations, costs, and sales locations. This trail can be seen to the east of North Twin Lake on the map below.

Come see why so many snowmobilers return year after year to the area for a well-groomed trail network, breathtaking scenery, and some of the friendliest people you’ll ever meet! Eagle River, Snowmobile Capital of the World®, is proud to host the Amsoil World Championship Snowmobile Derby, the World Snowmobile Headquarters, and over 500 miles of the best groomed trails you can find.

POV has plenty of space to park snowmobiles and trailers near your cabin. Our zero-grade access off our boat ramp leads to a mark and groomed spur out to the main trail system on the lake. And, our lakefront is well-lit with blue and green lights in the event you are travelling back to the resort after dusk.

If you don’t have a snowmobile sled of your own, or yours is on the fritz…guests are encouraged to rent a snowmobile from one of our third-party partners – 4 Seasons Powersports Rental (Conover) is our favorite — it is new and are super easy to get to. There is also Trackside on the north side of Eagle River – they have great customer service! Or there is also Toyshop on the east side of Eagle River. Rent from them and ride your sled back to the resort via connected trails (approx. a 20-30 min ride). You can schedule a ride back to Trackside with Allison’s Bar Car to get your vehicle 😀

Testimonial | Snowmobiling Getaway

“Really enjoyed our time at POV. Owners are very accommodating with booking and adding an extra day on when we decided to extend our stay. Love the ability to ride sleds right up to cabin and the way they have the resort lit up with blue lights along the shoreline to make it easier to find at night when coming in off the trail! Already booked again!” – Theresa – 5 Star Rating
