We are continuing a new tradition at POV – highlighting a local restaurant so that when you visit us you know where to find the best grub and beverages!
Toad in the Hole is truly a little gem in the Northwoods. Come and enjoy breakfast or lunch at their eclectic, cozy little diner. They lovingly craft you scratch-made seasonal dishes, along with constant classics. With their-ever changing menu they bring unique spins on classic breakfast, brunch, and lunch fare.
The mother and daughter duo Beth and Ashlee Millen opened the spotless cafe mid-November, 2022. And while they have plenty of repeat customers coming in, you really gotta try this place next time you visit the resort. It’s like a food truck but with a super tiny dining room and the nicest staff you’ll ever meet. With only three booths plus counter stools, seating is limited but the homemade breads, jams and cooked fresh food is tasty, and the atmosphere unique. There are always daily specials, and food is served with silver cutlery, cloth napkins, and assorted vintage plates. Worth a special trip!
The Menu | Chef Ashlee brings her foodie super-powers into her fresh, seasonal fare. Oliver LOVES the Purple Ube Pancakes (yep – you read that right – purple pancakes). Genevieve is a huge fan of the mouthwatering Two Faced Madame (a grilled cheese on sour dough with turkey, Gruyere cheese, spiced cranberry apple jam, and topped with a sunny side egg). Really you can’t go wrong with anything you order here.
To Book | Walk ins only – their winter regular hours starting Feb. 5th are closed Monday-Wednesday and open Thursday-Sunday 8am-2pm. In the summer they are open more days of the week. For more info on their hours, check out their specials and special events and info on their Facebook page.
